firefox notified me that they started collecting info that delays the application launching for a few seconds. How do I turn this off?
Firefox said they are collecting info from me that makes launching firefox delay for a while before launching. There were instructions to turn off this "feature", but it is no longer available. Tell me again how I can prevent this delay on launching firefox.

Firefox doesn't collect data that would slow down Firefox's launch, can you maybe give me the exact message you saw?
Also, you are on Firefox 57, the latest is 60.0.1, please update
Thanks for the quick response. The problem started when I updated firefox months ago, and the message was available back then, and as I said, the message is no longer available. If you aren't familiar with what I'm writing about, then maybe I should wait for someone who actually knows what firefox has done. There is no question that a message showed up, but only when I clicked the link that said "more info" regarding the new "feature" that was said to improve the speed (etc.) and security of firefox. I remember that they had a jazzy name for the "feature". I can't quote you the exact message...
I won't update my version of firefox until I get the instructions to turn off the data collection that I was warned about right when my system slowed down.
Thanks again for responding.
BTW, the browser works as fast as usual, except on launch.
Like I said, there is no data collection that Firefox does that would slow down Firefox's startup. You can see all the data that is collected by Firefox at Share data with Mozilla to help improve Firefox, but it doesn't slow Firefox down at all. In fact, that data is what helps us speed Firefox up for your system.
There are multiple messages that Firefox can display, and none of them say anything like "We are collecting data that will slow down Firefox's startup". Did it maybe say something like "firefox took longer to start than usual, refresh to speed it up"? Because that's something else entirely.
The only thing close to what you mentioned is a setting that says "Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla" That checkbox is, and has been, unchecked.
It never does anything different when I launch it, so slow IS the new normal, and not unusual at all anymore. Google search is a very lightweight page, and that is why it's my homepage. That is why it's so noticeable.
If you are having issues with Firefox being slow, than that is a totally different issue, and one we can help with. Firefox shouldn't be slow, especially not new versions.
Can you please update to Firefox 60, and then let me know if things are any faster
