Hi all, In my notebook i use xubuntu 18,04 os with firefox browser pre- installed. As form April 2024 when ubuntu standard support ended i use an ubuntu pro security subscription. Then, some time ago i saw the browser was not updated for over one year remaining at the 113.02 version. So according to ESM instructions i had to go with snap firefox, which i downloaded. I have the following questions for solving some issues: 1. Now i have 2 firefox browsers, one from regular ubuntu deb repositories and the other with snap.I have now to uninstall the old outdated version without causing any problems to the system or loose bookmarks. I will do that via software updater program, via terminal, or is there a recommended procedure ? 2'. Using the snap firefox browser as a default browser, i noticed some kind of malfunctions. p. ex a) trying to attach a file from the computer to an email the browser doesn’ t respond to open file selection. when i press "attach". With the old version this works fine. b) When i tried to export an html bookmarks file for backup, again the browser didn’t respond. This also works fine on the old version. Settings are fine and saved automatically from the previous version Any recommendation will be much helpful.

Hi there, I use Firefox across 5-6 Windows desktops and sign into my Mozilla account on each in order to sync Bookmarks and browsing history. In recent months, I'm having to repeatedly sign in on each device every few days. Previously Firefox would keep me signed in for months on end before having to re-authenticate. Any suggestions? Two days ago, my Firefox was updated to version 133.0.3. Since then, the add-on "I don't care about cookies" doesn't work well anymore. Unteil two days ago, I hadn't been asked about cookies for a very very long time, now I'm being asked several times a day. I installed the add-on "I still don't care about cookies" in addition, but that doesn't help either.

Last 2 months I'm facing a topic when I delete 1 message in any folder. After the deletion was executed not only the folder I deleted the message from, but all other folders in all my account + Local Folders become empty.

The only remedy to get the folder contents back it to close and restart TB. Most of the times this topic occurs when deleting the most recent mail in a folder, but it is not aloways the case.

This topic is extremely annoying because I need too restart TB at least 10-15 times per day, and it makes TB in fact a unworkable application. I'm currently using TB v128.5.2esr (64-bits), but the described topic occured in at least 3-4 earlier releases too.

I can't believe I'm the only user who suffers from this topic, but couldn't find any other running thread on this topic. I personally would consider this topic to be a 'Blocker' to be solved a.s.a.p.

No other browser has this happen AND i run 2 computers and on one of them when this comes up, the other allows it. Please fix your system on this before i have to drop your browser. Thank you.

I have Windows 11 on my Desktop PC and an up to date version of Firefox.

On two separate occasions I attempted to download past statements from two different credit card websites. Both times the requested statement failed to download, or even proceed to the next screen.

I called Customer Service for one of the Credit Cards and was told to try Google Chrome. I was forced to use Google Chrome to successfully download and view the requested statements.

I have been able to download and view the same information from the same websites in the recent past.

Could something have been changed in the Settings or what?

Ok 1st off you removed the extra "Tabs" which helped alot of us sort tabs, an never gave any kinda excuse besides to improve performance, which is as much a joke as biden was as president!~

 But now ya go an move the d@mn weather app from the Left Side to the Ride Side without bothering to ask anyone if they are ok with it, or even give us the ABILITY to change the location back!~

This is the 2nd time I'm asking. I need to re import my bookmark setting from a previous profile. I've tried but can't find the right folder/ import place? from earlier this year only options from many years ago. Please Help !

Hey guy's! Please bare with me, I'm new to thunderbird. I have my gmail account setup and it's downloading the messages fine except the date received is the wrong way around.

as in newer messages are being displayed at the bottom of the list. Is there anyway of inverting or reversing this?

I reported this 4 months ago and got no useful reaction, and the issue is ongoing, and my last report is clearly dead. I only got one idiot saying "Your answer is in your screenshots". Answer? I didn't ask a question. I reported feedback to fix something.

Ever since Facebook started infesting the chats with end-to-end encryption (random chats get "Messenger upgraded the security of this chat. Messages and calls are secured with end-to-end encryption" without my permission or asking if I want this), any encrypted chats have audio and video calls disabled. I note that I have ONE friend for whom it didn't do this, I can still do calls with her. If I receive a call, I get a pop-up saying that to receive this call I must download the Messenger app (no way) or a browser which supports it. If I check what browsers it thinks supports this, it only lists Chrome and Edge. As far as I know Edge is just Internet Explorer renamed, the biggest black hole in security, I've never touched it. Chrome ignores industry standards, so I don't use it. Making Firefox the best, top browser available. It's the only browser I wish to use. Mozilla needs to look into how to get Facebook to stop blacklisting Firefox like this. Note that this E2EE garbage has only been infecting things for less than a year, before that I was perfectly able to do any calls I wished in Facebook Messenger.

Note that back when I made my previous report, Group Chats were immune, but trying again today making a group chat RIGHT AWAY it marked it as having E2EE applied, so that fix now no longer works.

Can this somehow be brought to Mozilla's attention, to fix whatever Facebook is griping about so Firefox users can stop being blocked from making calls?

Found a lot of articles and tried a lot of things. Too bad firefox doesn't have a way to turn off the crash reporter. Something keeps causing it to prompt the crash reporter but firefox continues to work without any trouble. Networking for an enclosed group. Win10 most users on ESR 115.x. How can I make the crash reporter stop?

I personally am not a fan of the new layout, and cannot seem to find a way to set it to the original. If there is a way, may I be guided? And if not, please make this new layout optional.

Can you add a configuration setting to Mozilla Firefox to disable Create New Profile, configurable in the policies.json file? (A second option but a much uglier one would be to disable being able to select a file location for a new profile. Then you could make the default profile directory write only, which would also accomplish the same thing.) (A third option would be to able to configure extensions by default upon installation in the ExtensionSettings policy.)

To explain, I use LeechblockNG on Firefox on Ubuntu. Very helpful. By placing a policies.json file (see at bottom) in /etc/firefox/policies/ directory, I can create a system wide policy. I can make the LeechblockNG extension mandatory and to be installed upon every new profile creation. That all works very well. HOWEVER, there is NO way to be able to set those options in the new profile. So LeechblockNG is installed with default options (which are no blocking at all), which effectively bypasses the addon.

I am also writing the author of the leechblock extension to see if there is any way to set the options for leechblock upon installation (the third option above).

But I know other people have this same question, and at present, if I am correct, there is no way to block new profile creation, or the Profile Manager window in Firefox.

So could you please add that option to the Firefox policies.json configuration? Something like "DisableNewProfiles": true would do it.
