Thunderbird can't send emails from SMTP Outlook 365

more options

My email provider "Go Daddy" has recently moved my email from their own servers to Microsoft. The new SMTP settings are

Server name: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Encryption method: STARTTLS

I have tried everything and I cannot seem to send emails from Thunderbird. My gmail based email and also one other Go Daddy email which is still on their old servers works fine. I have turned off Firewalls, anti-viruses, tried on different PC's and nothing. Could it be an Outlook security setting ? Can anyone help ?

Note: The curious thing is that I put Thunderbird on a friends Mac and it sent the email .... ?!?!?!

[PS for privacy I have removed the username from the screenshots but it is correctly there]

Try changing the password to oauth instead of normal. Make sure cookies are enabled (default setting)

Hi thanks for the suggestion. The setting did take me to the Outlook authentication page similar to when I set up Gmail accounts, but it still didn't work. I also tried all the other password settings just in case, also nothing. Any more ideas ?
