How to stop Firefox from ALWAYS searching instead of navigating to URL/IP address?

I am inputting something like https://192.168.xx.xx:yyyyy, which is 100% a working address that I navigate to fine from other devices on the same LAN including machines w/ firefox installed, but for some reason this one instance of Firefox absolutely refuses to navigate directly to any local IPs and will search instead.

I have been using container tabs to juggle my corporate and personal github accounts. Until very recently, clicking a link from another app (email, etc) would start to open a new tab and then pop up a dialog asking me to confirm which container to use (see first attachment).

Unfortunately, now when I click on links it just loads straight to my "OSS github" container, which naturally produces a 404 error because my personal github account doesn't have access to the corporate repo (see second attachment).

At first, I thought I had accidentally clicked the "remember my decision" box. But the confirmation dialog still works if I open a new tab and paste the link in the address bar. It just doesn't work when other apps try to open a link in Firefox.

Is the new behavior intentional? Or did something accidentally break?

I have been getting this constantly despite Chrome never having this issue. I have searched for resolutions and there are people years back with the same issue. People seem to point to the internet provider as the issue but when browsing on chrome this error doesn't come up constantly, and daily. What can I do here?

I am using a 2017 iMacPro with OS 13.6.9 and Firefox 132.01. Youtube will not open in my browser anymore. When I type youtube.com into the browser window, it takes me to an error page that says:

This account is not yet eligible to use YouTube. Read https://support.google.com/a/answer/9000768 for more information.

If we cannot fix this issue, I will stop using Firefox and switch entirely to Chrome.

The presentation of the app “EML Viewer” for NextCloud isn't useful in Firefox and therefore “EML Viewer”/"NextCloud" cannot be used with Firefox. MS Edge and Chrome display the content better (correctly). Best regards Ralf

Good morning since the latest version firefox 130.0.1 for PC the operation of certain sites is not correct. For example: airbnb site or centralepneu site. this Pb is specific to certain sites, others work perfectly. a test on the 2 sites mentioned with Firefox on mobile version 130.0.3 ==> correct operation. a test on these same site with microsoft edge ==> correct operation. Test with another PC and Firefox 130.0.1 same observation Firefox does not work on the sites mentioned (airbnb and centralpneu) but edge or opera works correctly. It therefore appears that the operation of version 130.0.1 of Firefox presents malfunctions. Is a new corrective version in progress? and for when? Without correction from Mozilla Firefox it is likely that I would change browsers

Hi!

I am used to Firefox with multiple tabs and occasionally, I need private windows of Firefox due to reloading of websites, etc.

Each time I close my Firefox non-private window whilst the private one is still open (mostly by mistake), I lose my browser session with multiple tab completely. Also the recovery-mechanisms I found in the documentation database don't work.

Anyway, I wouldn't want to recover my sessions, I'd rather like Firefox not to behave that way. It is possible to enhance Firefox in such a way that it does NOT forget its sessions if the user closes a private window after the main non-private one has already been closed?

Thanks in advance, Dennis

Firefox and also Chrome can't play Youtube or Youtube TV video without major stuttering. If there's someone talking it's out of sync. Choppy video. I tried emptying the cache but nothing changed. I've started using Edge Browser, which I never used before, and it can play these videos fine. I regret having to switch to it because Firefox was so customized for me. Is there a solution for this? Thanks.
