Why am I no longer prompted for a password (not using Master password) and therefore cannot access email on pop3 server after upgrading to 38.7.2?

Latest update was applied automatically as desired but since then have not been able to access email on pop 3 server. Could do so immediately prior to the upgrade. Have never used master password but did try it to see if that would help but it did not so it was removed. The server is still working and email is available via multiple methods but not via Thunderbird. When starting Thunderbird it looks as it did before the upgrade but a login window is never presented and eventually the green line meter at the bottlom goes away. Attempting to get messages then says that it is connected to the server but it also eventually times out without delivering mail.

Downloaded and reinstalled 38.7.2 with a reboot of system and all is working now as designed. No further action required.
