I enter a search in the search bar, click enter, and window after window opens. I downsize the one on top, and close the rest, but if I search again, it happens again. In my browser Settings, I have it set to open new tabs, not whole new windows. I get a different window for Bing, Yahoo, one that doesn't say, and Google (which is my default). I don't even have Bing enabled. How do I stop this from happening?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
