The verification code is sent to my email way too slow, receiving it hours after the request

more options

I would like to confirm my Firefox account but the requested verification code comes to my email hours after the ~5 minute time allowance. The time is always expired when received, but I do eventually receive it! Could this code be sent as a text to my cell phone ? I have no problem with receiving emails on a timely basis from other sources, including verification codes. Thank you!

There is no way to get the verification code sent to your cell phone.

As a side note, to account for delays, the verification code is actually valid for 20 minutes (even though the email says just 5).

Your email might be delayed if your email provider is putting incoming emails through a lot of filters to filter out spam. These filters can sometimes take a long time to complete (depending on the internet provider). You can try adding the accounts@firefox.com email address as a saved contact on your email website. That usually means that the email provider will send the email through fewer filters and may decrease how long it takes to get to you.

Hope this helps.
