When using IE I can right click and send sites to desktop instead of bookmarks. How do I do this with Firefox? Sites that are used daily are more convenient for me this way.

Just a suggestion. Instead of cluttering your desktop, why not create a folder on the Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar (name it "Daily" perhaps) and put your links in that folder?

To create the folder and add links to it:

  1. Open the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+B opens or closes the Bookmarks Sidebar)
  2. In the Bookmarks Sidebar
    • right-click "Bookmarks Toolbar" and choose "New Folder"
    • give the folder a name (other than "New Folder" in the "Name" space
    • you can add a description in the "Description" space if you wish
    • done with this part, so you can close the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+B)
  3. Be sure the Bookmarks Toolbar is displayed (View > Toolbars, click "Bookmarks Toolbar" to place a check mark if it is not already checked)
  4. You should see the new folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  5. As you load your daily sites, drag the favicon at the left end of the URL bar to the to the folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar

The drag and drop method listed does not work for google sites (e.g., Maps) and I don't want to create folder as suggested. Any other way or does IE have something up on Firefox after all?
