When using the "Edit as New Message" feature, how can I quickly change all of the addresses in the BCC fields to a different list in my arreess book?

I have several e-mails set up as templates that I use to send out monthly messages about upcoming meetings. Each template has the BCC fields filled with the intended recipients for each group. If there are 50 addresses in the address list, then there are 50 BCC addresses listed. There is not an entry in the BCC field that contains all 50 addresses such as: "50 Names Group" <50 Names Group> Over time, some of the addresses change, so the BCC list must be constantly updated. Is there any way that I can completely delete the BCC addresses in the "stored" e-mail and replace them with the current addresses in the up-to-date address list? I'd like to be able to delete all of the addresses all at one time rather than having to delete them one at a time. Is there a way to "mass delete" all of the addresses? Thanks for any help!!!

I'd maintain a separate address book for this set of correspondents, and build a Mailing List, then send the circular using the Mailing List (as Bcc:) as the addressee.

Is your template used only to pre-load addresses? No other editorial content?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you; but after I got your reply, I was doing some experimenting to see if I could solve this problem. And... I think I did!

It turns out that when I was using my templates files, I was not using templates from the Thunderbird Templates folder, but I was using templates from the folders that I had imported from Eudora. In fact, I didn't even know that Thunderbird had its own Templates folder!

As I was poking around when trying to save a test file as a template, I noticed that if I clicked on the "Save" down-arrow and then clicked on "Template", it would save the file in the T/bird Templates folder!

Then, when I used the "Edit as New Message" option on the newly saved file , all of the addresses were not listed, but only the name of the list containing the addresses showed. I then did some testing to see if I deleted an address from the list it would be omitted from the next transmission to that list, and it was!

So I think, that with your help, I have resolved this mystery. Thank you very much for your response and help!

Hopefully this solves the problem, but if not, as Arnold said, "I'll be back!"

Jack...
