Whenever I'm running any videos in Firefox 21, it runs fast and there is no audio. I've recently upgraded to Flash 11. I've tried downgrading to Flash 10.3 with Firefox 21 and even downgrading to Firefox 11. Also tried disabling the hardware acceleration from Flash plugin.

The problem still persists. The videos run fine in other browsers like Chrome and IE8.

Could anyone kindly help?

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Thanks feer56 for replying. I tried what you've suggested but that didn't resolve the issue. In addition, the video stops automatically after a few seconds now. PFA the screenshot.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did you try to disable protected mode in the Flash plugin?

Thank you cor-el and feer56 for replying.

I've tried both the suggestions but none of them are working.

Hello !

I had the same error , and to my surprise Firefox updates can not be restored , so one method resorted to more drastic : the operating system ( Win7 just me ) I set back to an earlier save point , luckily it was just the upgrade from before . Since then disabled the update because the old version works flawlessly. When the first round of updates , I agreed , again went to every voice , not only in a Flash playerâ , and it just has not been updated , so the problem is somewhere in the Firefox version. Is now one of the older version on my machine and the one that is the error message that the update is available , I updated Flash Player , working from the newer version .

And , as others reading this , the administrator Message: there must always fresher everything ! Windows updates can be removed to decode . And , as you recall, the older versions of Firefox would have been able to decrypt the update . Czink Attila , Hungary .
