I am running Windows XP Prof SP3, Firefox 28, and Windows Firewall.

I recently noticed that Firefox was 'sluggish' loading and connecting to websites.

I checked the 'Exceptions List' in Windows Firewall but Mozilla Firefox was not listed. Why didn't Windows Firewall request access when Firefox was installed? Internet Explorer was not listed either and that browser was my original browser and became 'sluggish' which is why I changed to Firefox.

By the way, since 'adding' and 'giving permission' to Firefox, it has run a lot faster.

For others with firewall problems these articles may help

As for the finer details of Firewall operation on Windows that is a subject for a Window discussion somewhere.
