I use firefox on my android Fairphone to play podcasts and videos because I don't want to have a zillion more apps and this matches the way I use the net on my laptop anyway.

One thing that bugs me is the notification bell every time I start watching / listening, and then the notification sound when it stops.

I've checked through the android settings (version 13) but I can't find it. Is there a control in Firefox which is causing the notifications?

I need to build firefox android with an extension installed. I'm trying for ublock origin now but I'll use my own extension later. I do not plan to submit this or whatever,it'll be local. How can I do it?

Hello, I am having an issue when playing videos on youtube or youtube music on firefox (android). While I can unpause the video / music with the tab being in the background (different tab or even app is focused or even with locked screen), for some reason whenever I am currently focused on the youtube tab and leave it (lock screen, move to different tab or minimize the app to go to home screen/different app) the video will pause and I will need to unpause it again. Does anybody have a solution for this?

Why I cannot disabling this any fucking of firefox shortcuts it's a fucking shit opening stupid fonction every time I'm hit fucking ctr function open new tab or closing actual tab or open html code on actual webpage, why it's always fucking programmer decide what opening function without freely disabling this fucking stupid function? I want to work with a mouse not wit fucking keyboard. When will be able to work freely with firefox et stop to add and add and add more function?

On my current Dell laptop (Windows 11) I have had a recurring issue with Firefox wherein any time two sounds play at the same time (say, a Youtube video is playing in the background and I have a sound play in a browser game) it makes one of the audio channels cut out for about a second. This issue only happens with Firefox, and I previously fixed this by changing the bitrate in my audio output settings. However, after an update, this issue has returned, and the bitrate settings I was using that were able to fix this issue now doesn't allow me to play audio on Firefox at all. So now I have no way to avoid the strange bug that causes audio to cut out.

I would love some advice- is this on Firefox's end, or my computer's? Is there a driver I could install or something to avoid this bug? What causes it?

Dobrý den, na starém PC jsem měla v nastavení serveru typ POP. Aniž bych cokoliv měnila, při instalaci Thunderbird do nového PC mám najednou typ IMAP. Jak se typ serveru dá změnit? Jde mi o možnost zaškrtnutí volby Ponechat zprávy na serveru. děkuji Iva Gurecká

Can no longer send/receive email. Error message about "certificates", ports?, IMAP? settings......... Have tried various combinations and receive a variety of error massages.

I've been wanting to switch from Chrome to Firefox for the longest time, but I can't do it since surround audio doesn't seem to be supported natively in Firefox. I'm using a Logitech G733, with "Surround Audio" activated in GHub, and on Chromium based browsers, it works, I hear it when watching Youtube videos, Twitch streams..., but on Firefox, it defaults to stereo audio. I haven't been able to find any settings related to audio in Firefox, nor in the concerned websites. Is it a known issue ?

Approximately 2 years back, for a short period of time, FireFox let you choose an audio output device in video conferencing web apps, through the web app directly.

This seems to be gone now, but I'd like to turn the feature back on.

It's very problematic to have to change your default audio device for video calls, as your computers sound effects and whatnot will also play in your headset as well, where as before, all you got was the audio from the video call in your headset.

Is there a way to turn this on again? Owl Practice (one of the VC web apps I use) still shows the different output devices, but regardless of which one you pick, it always comes out the default device. For a while this feature actually worked, but now it doesn't.

Is there a setting I can change? Maybe in about:config?

This only happens when i switch back to FF desktop on win11. FF desktop on win 11 FF running and is not in focus when i hit Windows + 2 (2 is my setting for FF on the task bar), FF comes to the foreground in focus BUT IT ALSO SWITCHES TO TAB1. I cant get it to stay on the tab i was on last. I don't see the setting for that. Again this only happens with i use the WIN + taskbar digit that represents FF. Nic

I need to use one website that has an out of date certificate. I found out about adding the hostname to security.tls.insecure_fallback_hosts in about:config.

However, Firefox keeps clearing that setting when I'm not looking, sometimes in the same session! How can I make it persist?

I have changed my settings in Firefox to have Firefox the default when computer opens but it still opens with MSN which I don't want. Every time I go into settings even after re-boot it still shows to start with MSN . I change it again and same thing over and over.

thanks for any help and I have a feeling I have to delete firefox and re-install but worried all my links and bookmarks ect will go away.

I recently started to receive this error message: The folder 'Inbox on gassajx@xxxx.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again." I have over 300 GB free disk space and full control of the file system. How can I make compacting folders work again?

Ed - Thanks for that thread. Since I posted my question originally (and can't find where just now) I did try one add-on called STOP AUTO RELOAD by kgersen and I'm trying that. I couldn't understand how to add the particular address I wanted to use it on, but it's helping on FB without having entered FB's addy. Most of the time it stops the refresh. If I leave it too long tho, when I come back it does refresh, but at least it isn't refreshing while I'm trying to read it. The annoying blue label "refresh" still comes on my page, but I ignore it.
