Why won't my search bar save on my toolbar everytime I open the browser?

Everytime I close and reopen my browser, the search bar doesn't stay on the toolbar. I go to customize and have to add it on the toolbar every single time. Why won't it save my customization?

Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

That didn't help. The search bar still doesn't come up when opened.

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

You can also check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
