When I open your browser trying to get to Ancestry.com I am getting anywhere from 3 - 20 messages from my NOD32 ESET Security software saying they have blocked these URL and IP addresses. These are two of them:

I also got some of the same messages from this IP address - 23.7.86.129

No version of Firefox for any OS from www.mozilla.org has been proven to come with any form of viruses, malware or bundled with anything. Firefox is functionally become one of the increasingly fewer free applications that is clean and not bundled with anything.

With the exception of a locale contributed build over ten years ago as it was not until Firefox 1.0 that it was the first Firefox Release to have other languages besides en-US.

In case one of your extensions is in trying to retrieve those images, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?
