How to stop Firefox synch blocking my security software master password.
I use Trend Micro software for security and master password management. Today I set up Firefox synch for history and bookmarks only. Now I cannot open the Trend Micro password management function. When I click the icon a greyd-out block appears in the lower quarter of my screen. It does not respond to any clicks, scrolls and I can't close it. Password management is a lot more important to me than synchronisation so please advise how I can remove the synch function from my computer.

With the last Firefox upgrade, some plugins are no longer enabled until you enable it.
Open the Add-ons Manager. Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;
Tools Then Add-ons.
Hot key; <Control> (Mac: <Command>) <Shift> A)
On the left side of the page, select Plugins.
BTW; At the top right is a link to check your plugins.

This support article has the steps for disconnecting Firefox from the Sync account: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-set-up-firefox-sync#w_remove-a-device-from-firefox-sync_2
(I haven't tried it myself)
Thankyou for this advice but unfortunately it didn't resolve the problem. I have checked the plug ins and activated those previously 'always active' but have not noticed any change in my problem. S
Thank you. I've tried this but the problem still remains. Should I stop using, or uninstall Firefox?
Did you try to exclude the password from items that are synced?
Could you check with Trend Micro support to see whether they have some suggestions for getting the add-on working again?
