Same action as control enter (windows desktop); should open link in new tab. Works most, but not all of the time. What might be the reason for that?

Using version 31; I only started seeing this behavior recently.

It might be that the link in question looks like a link, but was not flagged as a link.

Next time, try this; In Firefox, Highlight the bad link, right click, and select open new tab / window.

If this does not help, post the web address of that page, and tell use what does not work. Give directions.

They're all links. The best repro I can give is drudgereport.com Almost always the top-most story linked but also many other linked stories. Right-click, open in new tab always works, but I'm a key user (that's the reason I posed the question).

I went to that page and tried a bunch of links. The opened properly.

Wait, you said Control Enter, do you have a mouse?

A possible cause is that there is JavaScript tied to the link via an onclick attribute or via an event handler.

Control enter or control click; same thing. Should always open in new tab but doesn't (always).
