View email Message Source without having to open the message first?

To view an email Message Source in Thunderbird, the message must first be opened. This is a security risk, as well as inconvenient. Even Outlook Express allows View>Message Source without having to open it first. Is there a workaround or can this feature please be added?

I think you're being overly cautious but here's the wok around: right click the new msg. - and choose save as. (Thus you won't be opening it in TB) Next step - open the saved msg with a simple text-editor. Voila.
