I was just browsing and wanted to go to youtube so I opened a new tab and typed in "http://youtube.com" and hit enter, after a few seconds of loading firefox instantly crashed and I started it again and restored session the tab was still open and when it started to load firefox crashed again.

maybe that's an issue with hardware acceleration - please try to disable hardware acceleration in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > general (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).
