Upgraded ATI Catalyst drivers for integrated HD4200 on Gigabyte MB to latest version. Version upgraded from driver version 2009.[...] to latest 2013.[...] version. Typing delays and mouse selection delays are gone. I made no other setting changes to default Firefox install or to my system in an attempt to resolve this prior to tonight.

Hello Compewtur, try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform the next steps: Open Firefox Options window as follows:

  1. click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options
  2. In the Firefox Options window, click the Advanced tab, then select General.
  3. In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  4. Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

any luck ?

Thank you.
