I installed the latest firefox on a new install of Windows 8.1 I tried to sync firefox to my previously synced account and it reported an unknown error. Firefox then let me sync to my previously synced account but bookmarks, extensions, add-ons, and other customizations are all missing.

Hi RubyStarfire, In order to jumpstart the sync process please:

  1. remove the account from the browser from the Firefox Menu > Options > Sync
  2. Restart Firefox.
  3. Re-add the account

If this does not sync within 15 minutes please provide any errors that occur in the logs and I would be happy to investigate.

  • How do I turn on sync logs:
  1. Open about:config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
  2. Restart Firefox and look at: about:sync-log
  3. Logs and error messages will be located here

Please also use pastebin.mozilla.org for sharring any errors that relate to this issue.

Thank you.
