Hi rj180,

A security issue was recently found in a lot of versions of Flash, even quite recent ones, which is why they've been blocked.

If you download the latest version of Flash directly and reinstall it, it should fix the issue:

I'm doing that now. The Mozilla link to "update" was worse than useless, giving misleading information and the search showed no updates available. Hopefully all will be well with my restart after installation.

Thank you.

I have an old computer, still using XP. That being said, I see lots of complaints about Shock Wave by users with new machines and newer versions of Windows. Recently I started a different strategy with the player; I simply keep it turned off unless and until I really need it. I visited a streaming site just this morning, gave the player permission to launch, and it worked perfectly for hours. YouTube? Again, no problems. According to my Belarc audit tool, the player I use is the latest version. Another question; does Adobe enjoy some kind of monopoly here? I have no answer on that one. I hope this post will be helpful to someone experiencing similar issues with this beast we all know as Shock Wave Flash Player.
