I get updates for new Firefoxes, but since the last two updates, I've been getting garbles and junk appearing on new tabs, and I can't even close these tabs because they're all bunched up together and you can't see the 'X' mark anymore.

The McAfee SiteAdvisor extension has been reported to cause issues with the tabs, so try to disable this extension.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
