You did not say, What is it you are trying to download? Where are you downloading from?

Some people take programs and create their own installers. While they may install the program you want, there may be no telling what else is being installed. Download only from trusted sites.

Do you have typed recently on Explorer : Mozilla Firefox download ?

Do you have done the process and see what are the maleware  ?

If you had you could see what is the problem and take action against people who try to destroy your company and the confidence from all your supporters. The last site I have tried was : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

First look it seems secure but we can see it is not and a lot of problem to get out of the scheme.

But if you don't matter, do what ever you want.

I cannot trust Mozilla Firefox because it is not a protected tool.

Can you post the warning you are getting?

Downloads from Mozilla should only have Firefox, nothing else.

You can type on Explorer : https://support.mozilla.org/questions/977489 and see the problem with sweet packs that override Mozilla or you can look at the info I have copy about what is trying to invade my computer via Mozilla. I will send it in a distinct Email cannot do otherly.

That is several years old.

Please give me an Email where I can send you the script of the problem with "My search sweetpacks". I cannot send an Acrobat file with this window. It is on the web that this organization is installing their malware on the same time than Mozilla and people give indication about that.

Hi gmaheux, Thank you for posting about this. Sorry you are having problems trying to install Firefox. I will try to help.

No one is going to say any website is totally immune to being hacked that would be stupid. We all see examples of supposedly secure or high profile sites being hacked. However I will say Firefox sites and servers are almost certainly safe, a story I will try to stick to until I see an avalanche of evidence to the contrary.

There are several other explanations that are far too frequent.

• False Positives:
  Sometimes there are false positives and Mozilla Firefox software does trigger alarms. This is usually fairly uncommon and is often shortlived, by the time the security software is updated and tried again the problem could be resolved.
• Unofficial or Fake site:
  The site used is not an official one. That could result in anything from just getting some unwanted foistware; through getting very annoying toolbars and adware; to suffering outright malware problems, hoaxes & ransomaware.
• Malware already present:
  Something already present could be activated. This may be anything from relatively benign potentially unwanted programs of dubious value to very harmful viruses & trojans.

Sweetpacks This is a name I know well I will check on how to remove it and post further information. Meanwhile some general information

• Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page
• Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware

Sending information. What are you trying to send exactly. If this is information from another website just provide the link. If it is the link to a malware site just spell out the link. Such as support dot mozilla dot org for support.mozilla.org

Obtaining Firefox Please use getfirefox.com that will redirect to a suitable official site for a download.

Sweetpacks is likely to hijack Fifefox's, search and resetting that is relatively easy. It may well be possible just to select another search engine and pick a new homepage. Or use the search reset addon, that installs resets Firefox searches etc, then uninstalls itself

However depending on exactly what was installed it may take more effort. Also if you have one piece of malware or unwanted software you may have others. it is recommended you do multiple scans with up to date tools. It is also worth looking at Firefox's add-ons and in the Windows Control panel for any obvious unwanted software such as toolbars.

gmaheux, short answer is the Firefox downloaded from mozilla.org does not come with this nor is it on any *.mozilla.org sites. It has never been proven that Firefox comes with this or any other crap. Firefox is sadly becoming one of the fewer applications that is not bundled with anything questionable these days.
