I am currently using ff 35.0.1 and got a notification that ff36.0 is available. Then, I tried to update, for that I opened the About Firefox dialogue box, it shows "Checking for updates" and then shows " Restart Firefox to Update", I never give the consent to update firefox, but ff shows restart to update and when I click "restart" nothing happens. So I restarted manually, nothing has changed and no updates were installed. I hope I can solve this issue without reinstalling ff, but I am ready to reinstall ff if necessary, what should I do now?

Hello Siva, delete the user.js file in your profile folder, and then try to install firefox over the current from the next full installer link : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

(The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create and write in the file also).

thank you

Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systems {web link}

This is not the first time for update problems;
