A folder under my bookmarks "disappeared". ?? I re-created the folder and I am trying to bookmark some of the sites, but some sites do not have "bookmark this page". Some do?????? I'm using Windows XP I'm still wondering what happen to this particular folder? Should I be worried?

Do you mean the sites don't have a link to bookmark the page? There are two built-in ways to do it that probably are better than using a link:

  • Ctrl+d
  • right-click a blank area of the page, then click the star icon in the upper right of the context menu

Do those work reliably for you?

Regarding the lost folder, it might still be found somewhere. If you start typing some of the missing bookmark into the address bar, does Firefox show it with a blue star on the drop-down list? If so, we could suggest ways to determine where the folder is now (for example, hiding in a different folder).

Like you said and my husband told me last night, somehow I moved my folder to another folder. Go figure. I'll keep your suggestion to resolve the other problem about not being able to "bookmark" a particular site. Thanks

If you have bookmarked a page then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu as well as the tooltip of the star changes to "Edit This Bookmark".
