favorite folders not working after update to 31.5.0

I have some folders that have various subfolders. These were created through gmail filters. Some of my subfolders are marked as favorites, some aren't.

The new, troublesome behavior after the update is that the umbrella folders, or superfolders, show up in my favorites panel, even though they're not marked as favorites.

This is cluttering up my favorites list because some of my favorites are actually sub-sub-sub-folders.

I found a solution. It turns out there are two ways of looking at Favorite Folders. I was in "Favorite Folders," but I needed to be in "Favorite Folders - Compact View," for things to look like what I was used to.
