Why can't I see any video but I can hear the sound? After the update this started happening.

I've been having NO problems watching videos (via Youtube, Crunchyroll, Kissanime, etc) on firefox....It's been playing fine. But...mysteriously after the update, I can hear the sound but there is no picture whenever I try to watch a video. I have tried everything...Uninstalling and reinstalling flash (didn't work), "Refreshing" Firefox (didn't work), Clearing the cache (didn't work), deleting cookies (didn't work), making sure the add-on's are okay (they are...didn't work)....So I'm pretty pissed off at this point. IE plays videos and so does Chrome, so what the hell is the problem???!!! Firefox is the fastest most reliable browser I've used, so this is just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO stupid and frustrating I'm going to get rid of it altogether. What Can I do to fix this ASAP?

It's easier to speak about YouTube than the other sites: YouTube is serving most Firefox users videos using the HTML5 player instead of Flash. You can confirm the one you're getting by right-clicking the player and checking the bottom item on the context menu. Or if you check this page, can you confirm that you have been switched?

As a temporary workaround, there are a couple of extensions to force Flash on YouTube for users who find that the HTML5 player is not working for them (or whose downloaders only work with Flash). For example:

But... with Windows 7, you really should be able to use the HTML5 player on YouTube, so it would be ideal to try to debug this problem if you are interested in experimenting a bit. Maybe not today...

It's not even playing flash videos (instead of the video being black, it's green). If I can just uninstall the update, that would be great. Like I said, it only started to do this AFTER the update was installed.

Oh, the green screen. That actually is an old issue with hardware acceleration, but it sometimes re-emerges after Flash updates.

Right-click the green media and choose Settings, then the first mini-tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration.
