My thunderbird doesn't look like this? Why? When I go to send a message the whole top toolbar(File, edit, view, insert, format, options, tools, help) is missing. So when I try to add a pic and resize it I can't b/c that toolbar is just gone! the error console is full of messages like: Could not read chrome manifest 'file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Thunderbird/extensions/%7B972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd%7D/chrome.manifest'. Could not read chrome manifest 'file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Thunderbird/chrome.manifest'. Timestamp: 7/2/2015 05:47 Warning: Use of Mutation Events is deprecated. Use MutationObserver instead. Source File: chrome://calendar/content/widgets/calendar-widgets.xml Line: 496 ETC. WTH happened to my thunderbird? After it crashed the next day it did the same thing came up with NOTHING wanted me to start a new account. I did a system restore and got it back and reloaded the thunderbird otherwise I would of lost all my mail like the 3 times before? Why does this keep happening? Thanks :)

You have a new menu, hidden behind the button with three horizontal lines. They assume you use other products where this is standard, hence it needs no explanation. Just to add to the confusion, the new button doesn't automatically appear everywhere you need a menu.

However, when you find that you need a menu, hold down the <alt> button, tap v, and the real menu will appear. Go to Toolbars and set the checkboxes for the Toolbars and Menu Bars that you want to have displayed.

Each of the Toolbars can be customised, so if you don't like the new layout you can put things back where you expect them to be. Right click empty space on any toolbar and select "Customize". Each toolbar has its own customization pane, so don't try to move between one toolbar and another one's customization pane.

Zenos! OMG it worked! Thank you so much for your help! One more question? (Please) When Thunderbird crashes sometimes it opens like a new program asking for input email etc and you see you've lost all your emails. That's what happened to me but I tried a system restore and got them back. I knew I really didn't "lose" them they are on my computer but it is a hassle to have this happen now 3x times! It happened on the other one also. (Gecko)? Anywhat to do when confront with the crash and loss of emails? System restore? Again thank you for your help. I would of never guessed. Crystal
