Cannot respond to older emails on Thunderbird

Hello all,

After years of faithful and reliable performance, my Thunderbird (mac os) has been problematic of late.

The issue is that I cannot respond to older emails. It simply hangs and I eventually get the following message:

"SEND MESSAGE ERROR:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtpout.secureserver.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again."

The strange part is I can compose a new message to the same recipient I am trying to respond to and it works fine as it sends immediately. The issue is if I'm responding to an older email. It just hangs at 65% or 79% and doesn't complete.

I am using GoDaddy email (workspace email). All my POP and SMTP settings are correct (and they would have to be or it wouldn't send out on a new email). I don't have this issue sending emails on my phone. I am using a 2014 Macbook Pro with Thunderbird 38.1.0. Attached is a SS of the Add-ons I use. I tried disabling some of them to no avail.

Any help is appreciated!

Have you checked with GoDaddy whether there's a problem at their end?

Yes, no issues on their end. As I mentioned, it wouldn't send ANY emails at all if that was the case. I'm sure it's an issue with TB. Hopefully they will do a new release soon to address it.
