Hi, that is simply the Options page, which you can also open by typing about:preferences into the address bar and pressing Enter. So when you have made your changes, just close the tab to save the settings.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Thank you! This certainly answers my question and so fast!! I wonder why you call it the "about:preferences" and not the "options page" which was what it was called when i opened it?

BUT..... I still get the message about my computer not accepting cookies!!! It happens when I use the new Hide my ass add-on and try to open Netflix. I have a Netflix account, but when I try to sign on thru HMA I get the message my computer is not accepting cookies.

What to do?

The about:preferences page doesn't have an OK button. Changes made are applied instantly, whether you leave the page open or close the tab.

What are the current cookie settings?

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:

  • Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"

You can inspect and manage permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected

Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab.

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
