Firefox keeps locking up--plugin-container.exe?

more options

Like the subject says...Firefox worked fine when I first started using it (I'm on Windows 7, a Samsung laptop), but lately it seems to keep freezing up more and more, forcing me to close all windows--when I click on them they fade out and I get the error message telling me Firefox isn't responding and will have to close. Sometimes it happens several times in a row, and it's getting very frustrating; I switched from my last browser because the crashes had gotten too bothersome, so I hate that Firefox is starting to do the same thing. :( Almost all of the errors seem to have to do with "plugin-container.exe," when I check the technical details.

The next-to-last most recent one:

Last night I changed Flash to activate only when I tell it to, but got another lockup not long after starting use of the browser today:

What can I do to fix this? It's getting so troublesome. :(

Please note I am NOT computer savvy!--so please try to keep any solutions or questions for further information simple!

Thank you.

Some problems Adobe Flash Player can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
