I want Firefox to remember passwords for sites. But when I click in the square for "Remember passwords for sites" under Security in the options window, the tick mark does not appear. How do I set it?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
