I keep getting a dialog box saying shockwave flash script is non reponsive and that causes Firefox to freeze and become non-responsive and eventulaly close. I go to the check plugins and the Flash player has always shows Update Now even after I've installed the lastest update from Adobe and says its vulnerable.

I've tried to setting the plug in to "Ask to activate" and still having problems.

Yeah, its becoming a huge hassle. All or most of us are experiencing it, and both Mozilla and Adobe have acknowledged the issue and are working to resolve it.

Note: Windows users must download the “Internet Explorer” and “Plugin-based browsers” installers.

Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.

You do not need to download the ActiveX version in order to use Flash with Firefox as suggested by Fred above. However it is a good idea to keep it updated if you do use it with IE.

Adobe is aware that the Flash player 19 in browsers has some issues with some games on sites like Facebook.

Try the Flash Player 18.0.0.252 as it is based on the more stable Flash Player 18 branch. https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Note that sometime October 16 Adobe plans to release Flash Player versions update to fix security issues in the current versions so do not be surprised.
