Firefox crashed when my Mac was sleeping. Restarted unresponsive, so I had to force quit. Removed icon from dock, moved Firefox to trash, emptied trash. Downloaded new copy. Still loads unresponsive so I have to force quit. Deleted that copy too. Not enough of a gear head to understand how this is even possible, but it would appear I can never use Firefox again on this computer, unless there is a fix. Safari and Chrome continue to work fine. I figure there are some corrupted files not removed by just moving Firefox to the trash - why? - but I have no idea where they would be, or even how to go about looking for them.

For now, do not remove the Firefox program folders. Let's check other things.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>

I don't want to mess with this anymore. Out of patience. The refresh instructions say you have to have Firefox open or in safe mode. Obviously, this is impossible since Firefox boots unresponsive. I just want to delete all of the program files and move on. I don't need Firefox.

The Mozilla Help Page for this is out of date, BTW. There is no Firefox folder in Application Support in 10.9.5

Note that in Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.
