Why does "Show All Bookmarks" keep stalling after a few actions, and why are random bookmarks replicating themselves?

In the last month or so everytime I use "Show All Bookmarks" to tidy bookmarks, sort by name, etc., it keeps stalling after doing a few things in there.

Additionally random bookmarks replicate themselves. One particular bookmark replicated itself over 2,000 times! (I noted how many I had to delete as I deleted them.)

Are you using Firefox Sync? If so can you please provide any error logs when you notice duplicates:

  • How do I turn on sync logs:
  1. Open about:config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
  2. Restart Firefox and look at: about:sync-log
  3. Logs and error messages will be located here

Please also use pastebin.mozilla.org for sharing any errors that relate to this issue.

Thank you.
