I am unable to receive any Facebook notifications even though I have my account set up with FB to have notifications come to my personal email box. I do also use Outlook and they have a notice that FB Connect is not longer available to them. Is my Thunderbird email account not able to connect with FB Connect also?

TU for your response, but I have already tried the web info you referred to for me to check out and it did not fix my problem. However, I just went through my Outlook settings (again for about the 10th time) and somehow by a miracle I clicked on the right icon! Wow! Now I am able to receive notifications which now appear to my right and a sound to alert me. And, if I don't get it right away, it dings me again! Can't believe that it works now. All I did was download the FB app to my computer. Now I can move on and not miss the things I want to hear or see about my friends on FB.

Matt,

I copied the information from my Outlook email search regarding FB. This is what it says:

Facebook Connect is no longer available

Facebook has made an update to their Graph API that will impact Microsoft apps and services. Facebook’s Graph API is the tool that we use to connect your Microsoft account to Facebook. It brings contact information from your Facebook friends into Outlook.com and the Windows People app, keeps those contacts up-to-date, and provides options in apps and services like Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, and OneDrive.com to share to Facebook. We collectively refer to these features as Facebook Connect.

Due to these changes, Facebook Connect features will no longer be supported. This article explains how these changes will impact your connected apps and services.

Thanks for taking a look into it.

Interesting... I have a Facebook logon and I've selected to receive emails to my email address. I have not used anything to do with MS like Facebook connect or Windows Peoples app. These emails arrive on webmail server and Thunderbird downloads them. Nothing complicated.

If the fb email notification emails are not being received by the server, so you cannot see them when accessing webmail account using a browser, then there is no way Thunderbird can download something that does not exist. In which case this is not a Thunderbird issue. Suggest you read FB info:

If the emails are getting onto the server and can be seen via webmail, please let us know.
