Bookmarks will not sort alphabetically
Please, before you give me instructions how to do it, I know the basics, but no matter how many times I try them they simply do not work. I've alphabetized and alphabetized by using drop-down options and right-clicking options, but they do not work. I'm using Microsoft 10. Is that the problem? Thank you.

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Using the directory tree on the right, right click the branch you want, and select "sort."
Where are you sorting your bookmarks from?
Bookmarks Sidebar? Menu bar > Bookmarks drop-down list? Navigation toolbar > clipboard button [to the right of the 'star'] -> right-click the folder at the bottom of that drop-down? or the Library window?
The latter is a temporary sort. The sort order reverts when that window is closed. The other 'views' will hold the 'sort order' when you use Sort by Name in the contextual menu. And the 'sort' goes as far as a separator, if you added any to your bookmarks.
In Firefox the choice to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks. Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and right-click the folder that you want to sort. The bookmarks are sorted between separators and if you have folders and normal bookmarks then drag the folders to the top in the right pane and (temporarily) put a separator between the folders and the bookmarks. You can do the same in the Bookmarks sidebar (Ctrl+B). You can remove the separators after having done the sort if you do not want separators.
