TB version 38.4.0 When I create a new contact for a customer, the filter I use to move emails for client does not move the emails to my CUSTOMERS folder. But, if I add the contact using the "Add to Address Book" by selecting the empty star on an email, Thunderbird then moves any new emails properly.

I have hundreds of client emails in a CUSTOMER address book that work correctly except when the contact email address is manually created.

Question: What is Thunderbird looking at in an email to apply the filter?

re :if I add the contact using the "Add to Address Book" by selecting the empty star on an email, By default this will add the contact to the 'Personal Address Book'.

Please post an image of the filter you created. Tools > Message filters select the filter and click on 'Edit' This is the information required.
