when on Yahoo new pages, there are two mode of display, one has a list of action icons on the rifht side of the new for you to choose such as "like this topic", "reload blog", "start comment" etc. I found if I login with a different user, this format may change to the one I like (without these icons), I tried to reinstall Firefox and start a new installation, the problem not go away. It look very much like a Yahoo issue, but I can't find any clues to make change on yahoo page either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Try using an ad blocker along with a "social" filter set.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. When you are in private browsing mode then Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is affected.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences > Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences > Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"

  • privacy.trackingprotection.pbmode.enabled
  • privacy.trackingprotection.enabled

I'd like to add a screen shot of my problem, is there a way to do this? Problem summary:

Firefor afyer installed, on some of my computers have to different browser rendering of Yahoo News. one is the news has a vertical list of icons abd the other one does not. I prefer the latter. This is not just happen on different computers, on the "affected" computer, if I log in to a different user, the mode can be the different one. It looks like a yahoo setting item, but I can not find any where to make changes to the Yahoo page settings.
