Following an automatic update, I attempt to open FIrefox and see the error:

Installer encountered an unexpected error installing the package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 2324

The first time this happened, I attempted a clean install as described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/990969 

But the message has just reappeared, so I assume my clean install was not quite the latest version and the package was re-downloaded for install.

Any help would be appreciated.

Some users have reported problems when installing/using v44. Install an older version of Firefox {web link}

Thanks for your reply. The downgraded version worked for me, but after closing it I found that it had auto upgraded to version 44 again. I therefore installed the downgrade again, and changed my "Firefox updates" setting to "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them".
