Firefox doesn't load webpages after 44.0 update on Mac OS

It works fine for maybe 2 hours and then it stops loading any website. My other browsers still work. I have to force quit Firefox to get it to load pages again. It stops responding when I just quit the app so I have to force quit it. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps: Changing proxy, enabling/disabling firewall etc. but none of it seem to work. It's really annoying at this point! Any help?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

Sorry for the late reply, I was traveling the past weeks! But, I just tried the trouble shooting steps you listed and it still doesn't help.

Firefox just loses connection to the internet randomly, sometimes it works for days before it acts up again, sometimes every 2 hours.

That will make it hard to pin down the problem.

Update all of your protection programs.

Hi there, thank you for the flag, and apologies for not responding sooner. I understand that when updating from Firefox version 43.x to 44 that Firefox needs to be forced quit to close after is begins to hang. I also understand that this is inconsistent and intermittent and you have tried to surf Firefox in Safe Mode for a few hours then it happens again.

What this means is that its may not be an add on and may not be a part of the profile. However to double check, open Firefox with a new profile. How to do this: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Second update to the latest version of Firefox 45. Download the install stub separately, https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ installing it over the current install will not remove the profile, however if you would like to back it up anyway how to do this is here: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

Please post the results after the update.
