I can no longer log on to aol to read my e-mail, it has been working fine for many months but now when I click "get messages" I get "Login to server imap.aol.com failed." If I then click retry I get another dialouge which says "server grwengserv@aol.com has disconnected. the server may have gone down or there may be a network problem".

Ihave tried the following :-

1 Restored profile from backup.

2 Deleted profile and created new one.

I know my password is ok because I can log on using the aol browser using it and get access to my e-mail that way but this is not ideal.

Should I try a complete re-install of Thunderbird ?

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

Best Regards

I would suggest you look at your anti virus. They are notorious for dropping connection in their attempt at scanning mail
