I let other people on the computer its a family computer. but i dont want them being able to change my settings for search engines or web browser how do i lock it so they cant change them but are still able to use the computer

Best is to create a Windows guest account or at least their own Windows user account to avoid others from changing your settings. Each Windows user account will automatically have their own Firefox profile folder to store personal data although you can use the Profile Manager to create multiple profile folders.
