I've downloaded the update but it won't install
I downloaded the update and clicked to install it. It tells me I don;t have the proper permission to authorize this action. Before I opened firefox browser I always click run as administrator. this just keeps happening and there are many programs tyhat are telling me to update Firefox. How can I do this?

Hmm, I think it's best if you do not run Firefox as Administrator. What error do you get if you do not select that?
Your Firefox reported itself to the forum as Firefox 17, which is quite old now. But this could be incorrect information. Could you check the setting in the following article, reset that if it's customized, and see whether sites report a different version number?

If it's still version 17, you definitely need to update, but there have been many intervening versions so you might want to do it in steps. Let's see whether another volunteer has a suggestion for how best to do it.
Try disabling Advanced SystemCare Surfing Protection by iObit and see if Firefox will update.
Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties". Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
- Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
- "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
