I have deleted Yahoo from the Options>>Search page, but with no effect. In about:config I can see that all the preferences are set to Yahoo. How can I set them to the selections made in Options>>Search please?

Hi Eric, Sorry you are having problems with Firefox's search.

You have installed adware|malware on your computer. For instance your more system details include

They fully explain removal with screenshots, and also provide tips on avoiding such problems. Also look at our Article

You should scan with all of the tools mentioned in that. No tool finds everything, and once malware gets a toehold it tends to multiply.
