Firefox will normally create a .part file in the temp folder when a download is initiated and is still in progress. Once the download has finished Firefox will rename the file and move the file to its final destination. This will in this case be a .exe executable, so it is best to be cautious. You would have to check its creation time to see if you can match it with a (unfinished) download in the Downloads Manager (Library).
