That depends on what downloader you are using, and what the link you copied goes to.
When I am downloading something, I create a shortcut in the download folder to the page I am downloading from. This way if there is trouble, I just start over.

You misunderstand. Before I start the download, I copy the web address from the browser to the download folder. Then I start the download.
hey man i am asking you why i see like this i am using firefox more that 4 years i never seen like this
Hmm your ideas looks good but some sites redirect to the download location this may not work again and others have a restriction like youtube download links only works 12 hours if you face such situation means what to you do and one more thing no one cares about the link which one of the link we are downloading and putting it in safe location hmm they just need the file man not about the url me too
yeah i get you valasudurai. been having the same problem too with firefox 47. got a screenshot too to make it clear. i was about to start a new question when i see yours. really hope firefox tech supports read this.
sometimes the generated download link (the one in the download progress in library) is different from the one that you clicked before the download begins (aka redirection). other times, the download link is hidden in some script. thus you have to actually download it first to see or copy the real link. and to do that is in the download library we are talking about here. sure you can capture the link right away with some external download manager. but it wasn't like that before version 47.
The trouble is, most clip pages call the clip from elsewhere. Sometimes from the same site, sometimes from outside that site.
Sometimes if you use the true link to the clip, it works. But sometimes it does not.
but it work in earlier version of firefox but i really need this feature because other browser(chrome) shows the link where it was downloading but why the firefox hiding this address
i can't understand what u said but i think this was conflict between the system and the browser is that correct or not
You are on a web page and find something you want to download. First, copy the link to that page to your download folder. Then start the download. If it goes thru, great. If it fails, you still have the link.
