Inbox and all other folders disappeared
[Disregard--See subsequent post below. Brute force fix via backups] Thunderbird is 45.2.0. No crash reports since 2014. Account is MSN POP3. OS is Win 7 64-bit. When Thunderbird started this morning, it came up with no folders showing in the left pane, and after tweaking all possible views I still cannot see my Inbox or any other folders. I have restarted TB several times with the same results. I have restarted the computer--no change. I can actually Send email to the MSN account, but I have no way of seeing new mail. Most important to me, I can't see any of my saved emails in folders. While I'm not against a complete reinstall, I MUST get access to the saved email folders. Any ideas?

No need for a response. I have restored my profile from a backup taken 2 days ago and all seems well now.
As a MSN POP user, be sure you are up to date on this one. It caught me.

Thanks. The server name change is really good info to have. The current download of 42.5.0 seems to be aware of it and configured the account properly without my intervention. There was apparently a much deeper problem, possibly a persistent flag in one of the many files in the user profile, that was hanging me up. The reinstall, and then re-import of my backed up folders, finally got me working well again. Better, in fact, than it had in months.
