Mail Server Password always incorrect

Hi there,

I'm having a small problem with my own mail server setup. When adding it to Thunderbird, it says that the password or username is incorrect, however, when trying it with another mail software, the PASSWORD and username ARE CORRECT. I'm sure about that, however Thunderbird keeps throwing the "Password or Username incorrect" error.

Is there a bug, or a fix for this?

The error message is misleading in that it talks about your password, but in fact may be one of several issues, including the login (full or part of your email address, or something else entirely?), the connection (port number, security) or your security software breaking the login/authentication process.

I've checked the Server settings too, and the ports and links for the IMAP and SMTP Servers are correct too. The provider confirmed that.
