not sure why this has happened suddenly. I can't seem to load anything but Firefox homepage now. I use Windows 7 and Thunderbird. here are some of the pages that don't load https://www.bmo.com/ https://www.facebook.com/ https://www.lumosity.com/ https://www.realtor.ca/

What security related software are you using ? it is probably fighting with Firefox. What are the exact error messages that you get ? Are you trying to work around this by setting exceptions when you get warnings from Firefox ?
